Jason Meek
Entertainment & Media Division
Mr. Meek is an accomplished producer of live entertainment and creative content who has made China his home for the past 17 years. He is fluent in Chinese, and has a passion for Chinese culture, history, art, theatre and entertainment, and helps to create cultural bridges. He has lived and worked in various cities throughout China and also spent two years working in Japan.
Mr. Meek served as Entertainment and Cultural Programs Director for the USA Pavilion at the attendance record breaking 2010 Shanghai World Expo. The Pavilion had 7.3 million visitors during its 6-month run. The program Jason directed hosted more than 70 accomplished artists and performers in numerous venues inside and outside of Expo.
The roster he brought to appear on behalf of the USA Pavilion included Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih, Harry Connick Jr., Herbie Hancock, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Ozomatli, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. He has also led multicultural show production teams for Shanghai Disneyland where he was directly responsible for the delivery of 3 stage shows and an atmosphere entertainment program comprising more than 15 different live entertainment experiences.
Mr. Meek has also managed the production of numerous live shows in Qingdao and Wuxi for the Wanda Cultural Tourism Institute and Sunac Culture Group, including two large acrobatic spectaculars. He has worked on various live music and contemporary art projects, including the opening of the Bandai Namco Culture Center in Shanghai. In addition, Jason has consulted for SMG Dragon TV, Shanghai Post Expo Development Group and No. 5 immersive theater in Beijing. He also represents Chinese contemporary artists in the international marketplace and is currently developing a new online multimedia and immersive experience design.
He graduated from Hiram College with a liberal arts B.A. in Business Management, and minors in Creative Writing and Economics.
